Something among these delicacies doesn’t fit. Can you locate it?
You may earn a first class trip over Air France with a three months courtesy stay in Miyakojima (and I7ll hav sand to eat for the rest of the year).
Hint: here, you don’t eat that kind of thing.

Following the huge success of the Apple Store in Miyakojima, phone carrier Orange recently open a boutique on the island
Sorry for the poor picture but the weather was too hot for me to clean the window.
Note: it is by no mean an antiquary shop.

Tanabata (七夕, « The Seventh night [of the Seventh month] ») is a Japanaese festival dedicated to stars originating from the Japanese Obon tradition and the Chinese Qi Xi stars festival. The festival usually takes place on July or August 7th. It symbolizes the meeting of Orihime (Alpha Lyrae/Vega) and Hikoboshi (Alpha Aquilae/Altaïr). The Milky Waykeeps the lovers apart but they are allowed to meet once a year. That special day is the Seventh day of the Seventh moon calendar month. .
Nowadays, Japanese people celebrate this festival on the 7th of July or August, wearing Yukata and using bamboo leaves decorations. They write down their wishes, sometimes in verses, on a tanzaku they hang on branches. It is said that Orihime and Hikoboshi shall grant worshippers’ wishes. Once the bamboo tree has been decorated, it is thrown into a rive or burnt around midnight or the following day for the wishes to come true.
Faithful to the tradition, we did it with the family.

If you like fishes and want to see a unique show of these, I suggest you go to Yoshino beach. The locals call it the “aquarium beach”.
The coral seals the fishes inside a perimeter of 10 meters from the beach, but still within one’s depth. You will feel like diving in a giant aquarium.

La scène se passe a 13h30, au cap sud-est de miyako. Bien sûr à cet endroit il n’y a aucune entreprise ou boutiques ou le port du costume et de la cravate est indispensable. Et pourtant…
The time is 1:30 pm, at the far South-East tip of Miyakojima. There is not a single enterprise or boutique around that could justify waering that compulsory suit and necktie. And yet …

Here in Miyakojima, re-using is a matte of fact, even the boarding ramps for airplanes.

Fundoshi
We often go (on stealh mode) visit the Tokyu Resort to enjoy the hotel pool. This time, we had the priviledge (or lack of luck?) to get a full view of a (yakuza?) Jpanese wering tradtional fundoshi pants at the pool side.
undoshi (褌?) is the traditional Japanese underwear for adult males, made from a length of cotton. Before World War II the fundoshi was the main form of underwear for Japanese adult males; however it went out of use quickly after the war with the advent of new underwear, such as briefs and trunks, on the Japanese market.
Well, frankly speaking, it doesn’t shine like the turquoise of the water. The pictures wer taken from a distance as I didn’t want trouble with that yakuz like ma.
